Our President-Elect has said that he will govern from the middle of the political road. If his Cabinet Announcements are any indication of of his intent, he has stuck to his word.
I have been impressed with his selections, especially in light of the fact he was so profoundly left leaning early in the campaign.
I do not like the lawyer he has selected for the Attorney General position, but I question his ability to be confirmed anyway. If the Democrats will apply the same scrutiny to him as they did to the appointments by the current President he will not be approved.
The true test of Mr. Obama's leadership in the first month of his term will be to get his cabinet approved with the least amount of controversy.
I am afraid of what the days until January 20th hold for our nation. The possibilities for catastrophe chill me to the bone. The days following the inauguration do not hold much promise either.
Let us all give Mr. Obama the chance to succeed on his own merits. Do not heap undeserved burdens on the man before his time.
Pray for our Country and my Children
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
